Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Video Teleconference (VTC) Technician II to join our team at Glenn Research Center (GRC). The candidate will be responsible for managing and operating video teleconferencing (VTC) equipment, supporting conference room technology, and assisting end users with VTC services. This position requires expertise in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining various VTC and audiovisual (AV) technologies, including PolyStudio, projectors, audio systems, and control consoles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and manage video teleconferencing equipment including powering up, configuring, and troubleshooting systems.
- Set up and adjust audio levels, camera positions, and secure/non-secure video calls.
- Provide technical assistance to users conducting video teleconferencing sessions.
- Perform preventative maintenance and support of fixed and portable collaboration room equipment.
- Support and operate PolyStudio, video cameras, projection/display screens, audio systems, and control consoles.
- Monitor VTC equipment performance and report issues to the appropriate support teams.
- Operate and manage briefing computers, projectors, and other AV equipment in support of VTC sessions.
- Schedule and coordinate video teleconferencing sessions.
- Train personnel on VTC and audiovisual equipment operation.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Experience:4+ years of experience operating and supporting VTC and AV systems.
- Experience with PolyStudio, high-resolution graphics, and AV control panels.
- Strong knowledge of video conferencing technologies, including secure and non-secure setups.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and network-related issues for VTC systems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to support end users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Clearance: Must be eligible for a Public Trust security clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Industry Certifications in VTC/AV technologies (e.g., CTS, Polycom, Cisco certifications).
- Experience working in a federal IT environment.
- Knowledge of secure video conferencing protocols.
